chirpy

I was at work one morning when I heard loud chirping
sound I followed the noise and found a chick.
Here is chirpy I named it that because that's
how found it .

It was stuck under some tin. I picked up the tin and took
to its mom but the poor chick could not keep up. Its leg
was hurt. I asked my Boss if I could keep it. He said I could
because it would not live if it stayed there. I put the chick
in a cover barrel so the wind would not blow on it. When
mom came to pick us up I took the chick up and started
walking to the car "what is in your hands?" Mom asked
"A baby chick can I keep it it? It would not live if it stayed
here" I asked. She said I could as long as I kept it in a box.

A few days later we went on a trip and I had to do something
with the chick. We were about to take it with us and it would
stay in the car the hole week till my great grandmother said
that she would watch it for us. On the way home we picked
the chick up.

When the chick got some feathers I let it out side more often.
Chirpy is getting bigger.
It likes me holding it and it follows me around. And when the sun is
hot it would cuddles up by the pink bicycle helmet that is in the picture
or that little board that is in the picture also.

I love that chick.
it's the best pet I ever had.

working in the dark

I have had a good week.
 I got a new bike.

Me and Joshua split up our chores early in the morning before the sun had risen.
I nearly ran in to a tree when I was about to feed some horses in a small pasture.
Once I got all the horses in the barn fed I set out to find Joshua in the dark.
He was some were in the big hay field I heard Joshua blow a  whistle
(Joshua uses the whistle to command the sheep dog to
walk, lie down, and come to him) but I didn't see him I ran towards the sound and saw a small blur of white.
"Joshua" I called knowing that the blur was just a bunch of  sheep and goats.
Then I saw him in the middle of the flock after.
Joshua put the goats in the pasture then we started back  to the barn keeping the sheep dog close by so
we could see him. When we were not looking the dog went away. We looked up and  did not see him. We
called him but we did not see him. After walking a little we saw a goat but  we did not see the dog.
Then we heard the grass move. Then there he was trying to herd the goat. Then he ran a head to another
goat.  At this time we were able to see that the dog was after another goat we got the dog out of the hay pasture.
Then we got on our bikes to go home.

My Favorite Horses

I have had a good month so far I started training horses last month.

 I got a new hat.

In this blog I am going to write about My favorite horses.

Here is four horses that I like to be with. But in this picture it only looks like there are three.

Two of them are half sisters. And the other two are not even related.

I love the color of this stallion
he is the father of one of the colts above

This is ladybug she is six months old I like giving her hugs

I like riding this horse too.

I love riding lots of  other horses too.
But the main horses I see are the horses I train.

Saving a Puppy

I had fun with my sister (who is on my left)
and my best friend (she is at my right )
we had fun.

Saving a Puppy
Dad dropped me and my brother
off at the ranch and we started walking
to the barn.

"One of the puppies is stuck under the house,"
said our bosses niece running up to us. "I can't fit under the house."

We ran to the house.
I was the first to go under the house. I had to do an army crawl under the house to get where the
puppy was.  Finally, I was able to  reach her.  The puppy was stuck  and could not get herself out. It looked like she stepped over a pipe and got stuck. I had to push her up and over the pipe while I was on my stomach.

"Do you want me to help?" my brother asked.

"Sure," I answered.
But he did not come because I was in the way
so I had to do it myself but I finally did it and the puppy was free. Then I crawled back out.
Every day seems like a new adventure.

My First Adventure

Hi my name's Ruth. I love horses.
I work at a horse  ranch with my older brother.
I also take horse riding lessons.

I also like to read
and write. I am writing some books.
and I play recorder. I like to paint with watercolor

Each blog I do I am going to add a story or an adventure of when I am at the ranch like the first time I fell off a horse. Or when I helped a puppy get out from under a house and other little adventures.

When I first started my riding lessons I was not working at the ranch but my brother was working there. I was about to ride with some friends. I finished saddling my horse and hopped on. Then we rode out to the field. When we went out to the field my friends were talking together. I was in the back listening. We went on the trails. After a while we saw a baby goat (there's goats and cows at the ranch too) in the wrong pasture. The others that were with me got off their horses and they were thinking of carrying it on a horse. When they touched the goat to the horse, the horse did not like it and kicked. All of our horses started to run but they didn't run very far. We could not take the goat on our horses. My friends were talking about
how if a goat stayed in this pasture a coyote might eat him. I did not want that to happen but they told me to make the goat run away. I tried a little.

"May he follow us?" I asked.

"Our horses would get spooked," she told me. I tried again but I did not want to leave it.
"He can follow your horse just don't come to close to our horses," she told me.

I slowly rode home with the kid behind me. They were way ahead of me. My horse was starting to panic because no horse likes to get left behind. I told the other two that my horse wanted to catch up and they let me catch up. The goat followed us to the pasture he was suppose to be in. Then we went back to the barn.

I was so glad I could save the goat. Maybe in the next blog I will tell how I saved a puppy.
